This is the lens that normally comes in the kit.If you need a new Rebel, get the kit! We ended up paying more for it separately.What happened was my old camera quit working. We thought it was the body, so we just purchased a new body.Nope. The lens was broken! So then we had to purchase a lens separately.This is a pretty basic objective boot / and great works for photos in general. I do a lot of animal photos, and it's worked fine.The next lens to cost more than the camera! So if you just need a basic lens, it works, takes great pictures, and will not break the bank..
